Frankenstrat
Frankenstra is a Fender Strat, circa 1994-96. I bought it at a guitar show. It was the ugly duckling- no one wanted it, and it had a certain charm.
This was originally bought as a second guitar, and it needed some work. I have replaced almost everything....
This is the guitar I used on most of my tracks on the first Bluebone CD.

This picture does not show it well, but I have replaced the original white pickguard with a tortoiseshell one. It is actually a very sharp looking guitar.

Another distinctive feature is the neck, which is narrower and thinner than most strats. It plays like butter, and it's very comfortable, especially for people with smaller hands.
(scratch THAT! the maple neck is GONE!)

DETAILS:
This is a '68 reissue model, cream color, with maple neck.
It has been "tricked out" with a tortoiseshell pickguard, and a Dan Torres wiring modification. In addition, I have replaced the original pickups with Seymour Duncans. The neck and bridge position have the "Duck bucker" pickups, while the center is a fat "Hot Rails" pickup.

NEW CHANGES!!
I'm not done yet!! I just put a Mighty Mite neck with an ebony fingerboard on the guitar,  with graphite saddles soon to come. Look at her now!....and SCREAM??? yes, it screams.
AND!!! Ernie did some wiring....it's a really fun axe!!!!

This guitar has a new lease on life.
I routed out the body and installed
a Seymour Duncan '59 humbucker
at the neck and a Duncan SH-1 at
the bridge. I left one of the Duncan
"Duckbuckers" in the middle. Fat
and ornery is how it sounds now.
And with the bolt through neck, it's
truly a "FRANKENSTRAT".
New Pix coming soon, I hope!
